34% year on year footfall increase

Centre manager Kenny Bruce recently spoke with the Aberdeen Press and Journal about the thriving independent businesses at Trinity Aberdeen. Independent traders, such as Shot’n’Roll and Resting Brunch Face, were essential to the success of one of our most successful weekends this year. The footfall at the weekend saw a remarkable 34% increase compared to the previous year, leaving us all delighted at Trinity Aberdeen

Supporting startups is a key part of Trinity Aberdeen’s ethos, and we take pride in witnessing them grow into successful enterprises. The national brands also play a key part in the Centre, attracting other types of shoppers, such as Primark, Poundland, The Works, and the other key national high-street retailers.

Shot ‘n’ Roll, Resting Brunch Face, Dream Beauty, Angelic Aroma’s and Heather’s Woodcraft have allowed the essence of local to grow with a huge sense of community in the Centre. Seeing people come through Trinity Aberdeen to support these local businesses creates a great atmosphere for the Centre.

Heather’s Woodcraft is a prime example, Heather started by taking a weekend stall which initially extended for six months and then for a year. Now Heathers Woodcraft is a full-fledged retail unit.

Trinity Aberdeen is the perfect place for enterprises looking to start in Aberdeen, there are several benefits in Trinity Centre. Kenny explained that rookie traders can access favourable business rates and flexible floor space within the Centre. We have the experience to help with their online presence and business engagement practices. We can provide support, allowing local businesses and talent to grow.

The Press and Journal recently ran an investigation to see how independent Aberdeen’s high street is. We are proud to say that we have the highest percentage of independent units across all the shopping Centre’s. Kenny Bruce “It makes me proud that the work we are doing is helping regenerate faith in the City Centre”

Local is always looking out for locals. That’s the unique selling point we are trying to push.

We would like to thank Graham Fleming and Sophie Farquharson at Press and Journal for taking the time to speak with Kenny about our journey so far.
